Accidents or unintentional injuries are one of the leading causes of emergency room visits and hospitalization in the country. These injuries can occur as a result of various circumstances including car accidents, workplace accidents, slip and fall accidents and more. There are times when these accidents are more than just simple accidents. When these accidents are the result of the negligence or reckless actions of another party, the other party can be held liable for the damages resulting from the accident. This is possible through a personal injury claim.

A personal injury claim is a legal action that is taken when a person suffers a serious injury as a result of the negligent or reckless actions of another party. The responsible party can be held legally responsible for damages resulting from the accident such as medical expenses, property damage, lost wages and more. Below, we discuss actual personal injury incidents in Omaha.

Real Examples of Personal Injury Incidents in Omaha

  • Truck accidents

Nebraska is a large state whose economy depends heavily on industries such as farming and manufacturing. Semi-trucks therefore play a major role in the economy. Numerous trucks cover thousands of miles on the highways in and around Omaha. Semi-truck accidents are therefore quite common in the city of Omaha and the state of Nebraska as a whole. These accidents are more complex to handle than other types of motor accidents. This is because the trucking industry is held to a higher standard than with other motor vehicles. There are additional laws and legislations to navigate.

The driver, a 29 year-old male, was pronounced dead on the scene. Preliminary investigations show that the driver lost control of the vehicle as the vehicle moved over the road with a loose gravel surface. The semi-truck entered a ditch and rolled several times. The driver was pinned in the cab. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
