As such, we thought we would put out this safety tip list:

Driving and traveling

  1. Do not drink and drive! There are plenty of other options from sober drivers, to taxis, Ubers, and other ride sharing arrangements.
  2. Stay off the roads unless necessary, every year innocent people are injured or killed by those who are irresponsible or unsafe. During holidays the number of drunk drivers on the roadways increases, especially at night.

Fireworks

  1. Sparklers can be dangerous supervise children who use them.
  2. Always have an adult supervise any children using fireworks.
  3. Do not use illegal fireworks.
  4. Place used fireworks in a bucket of water.
  5. Keep water handy to put out fires.
  6. Do not hold fireworks after having lit the fuse.
  7. Back up to a safe distance immediately after lighting fireworks.
  8. Make sure fireworks are pointed away from crowds and buildings.
  9. Do not use fireworks while intoxicated.

Party Hosting Tips

  1. Make your grilling zone a child free area.
  2. Have plenty of water available.
  3. Safeguard the alcohol so that minors cannot access it.
  4. Do not allow intoxicated guests to drive home.
  5. Fix, mark, or pick up any hazards that could cause people fall, trip, or hurt themselves.
  6. If there is a pool, lake, or body of water involved make sure that parents track their children in the area.

This is not an exhaustive list of safety tips, just somethings to keep on your mind while you enjoy the holiday. At the end of the day the main take away is to simply act responsibly and watch those around you to help them do the same.
