High & Younes welcomes three exciting additions to our Omaha legal team: Attorneys Wesley Bain, Joe Selde, and Leigha Wichelt. Here’s more about each of them – and how they can help you with your legal matter.
Wesley Bain, Jr.
Wesley was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, the son of a schoolteacher and future lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force. After leaving Goldsboro, Wesley’s family spent years stationed at military bases in New York, Louisiana, Virginia, and Nebraska.
Wesley graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in English. He earned his law degree in 2007 from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Since then, Wesley has practiced extensively in the field of bankruptcy law and creditor-debtor rights. He represents Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 debtors in individual, joint, and small business bankruptcy cases. Wesley has successfully negotiated and settled dozens of breach of contract matters, which has saved his clients incalculable time, money, and resources that would otherwise have been spent on litigation. His steadfast work ethic and commitment to his clients continues in his role at High & Younes.
Wesley is admitted to both federal and state courts in Nebraska and Iowa. He is a member of the bar associations in both states. In addition to practicing law, Wesley has taught legal courses at both College of St. Mary’s and Metro Community College.
For Wesley, communicating, asking questions, and sharing information is the foundation of strong client relationships as well as client satisfaction. Outside the law office, Wesley loves to spend time with his family, including coaching his daughter and stepdaughter in soccer, basketball, boxing, and other sports. He and his wife enjoy playing card games with friends. Email him at wesley@hyattorneys.com.

Joe Selde
Joe argued and won a civil trial a month after he became a lawyer. Since then, Joe has continued to zealously advocate for those who have suffered personal injuries resulting from someone else’s negligence. He brings that commitment to doing what’s right each day he walks into his office at High & Younes.
Through his prior experience working at an insurance defense firm and as a claims adjuster, Joe has handled injury claims at every stage; from taking the first phone call on a claim to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He has recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in compensation on behalf of homeowners whose properties were damaged in hailstorms.
At the same time, Joe practices criminal defense. He has an extensive knowledge of criminal law – as well as a passion for protecting his clients’ rights – that he demonstrates in every single case he takes on. A former public defender, Joe has represented more than 500 defendants in misdemeanors, felonies, child support delinquency cases, board of mental health cases, and other administrative actions. He has successfully represented individuals charged with crimes throughout eastern Nebraska, including before the Nebraska Court of Appeals. Joe also has defended clients charged with federal crimes.
At High & Younes, Joe continues to work tirelessly to ensure his criminal defense clients have a strong, experienced, and passionate voice representing them both inside and outside the courtroom.
Joe primarily represents people arrested for DUI – whether it’s a first, second, or third offense – regardless of their past criminal convictions. He also defends clients charged with drug possession, domestic assault, and more. Joe can help you, too. Email him joe@hyattorneys.com.

Leigha Wichelt
Leigha has seen firsthand the negative effects on families who lack strong, compassionate legal representation. Prior to joining High & Younes, Leigha worked within the Douglas County Juvenile Court system; as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children; and as a Child Youth and Families Services Specialist for Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
Because of that, Leigha understands that in many cases, parenting is at the heart of the court system when it comes to family law matters. She testifies on child support collection reform before the Nebraska Legislature. And, Leigha is a mother herself.
For years, people told Leigha that her passion for helping families would make her a great lawyer. So, she became one.
Leigha is a Family Law attorney for High & Younes, focusing on Divorce, Adoption, Child Custody, and Decree Modification. She also is starting a pro bono clinic for veterans. Email her at leigha@hyattorneys.com.
